The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) has unveiled the list of nominees for its highly anticipated 2025 edition, recognizing outstanding achievements in film, television, and digital content.

This year’s nominations highlight productions released between January 1 and December 31, 2024.

Leading the charge are films such as Lisabi: The Uprising, Skeleton Coast, House of Ga’a, and Freedom Way, each earning multiple nominations in major categories, including Best Movie and Best Director.

In the acting categories, Tokunbo star Gideon Okeke, Suspicion lead Stan Nze, Seven Doors actor Femi Adebayo, and Lisabi: The Uprising star Adedimeji Lateef will battle for the Best Lead Actor award. On the Best Lead Actress front, Chioma Chukwuka (Seven Doors), Bimbo Ademoye (Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre), and Uche Montana (Thinline) are among the top contenders.

The awards also shine a spotlight on digital content creators, cinematography, editing, and costume design, honoring those who bring African stories to life on screen.

The AMVCA remains one of Africa’s biggest platforms for celebrating cinematic excellence, and anticipation is high as fans and industry stakeholders await the 2025 winners’ announcement from the nominees released.
