Annie Idibia, the estranged wife of Nigerian music icon 2Baba, has deleted all of her posts on Instagram, weeks after the singer confirmed their separation.
Annie, who has been married to 2Baba since 2012, has remained largely silent since the announcement made by the singer in January. Their separation has garnered significant public interest, with the couple sharing two children together.
Reports show that Annie has wiped her Instagram account clean, which boasts a following of 7.9 million. The only content still visible on her profile is a December 2017 highlight, featuring a heartwarming moment where her daughter, Olivia, wished her older sister Isabel a happy birthday. The caption read, “Happy birthday to Isabel from Olivia. Awww, too precious.” Additionally, Annie has kept her profile picture intact.
While Annie has opted for a quiet response, 2Baba made headlines in February when he publicly confirmed his relationship with Natasha Osawaru, the deputy majority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly. Not only did he acknowledge their relationship, but he also proposed to Natasha, further intensifying the media frenzy surrounding their personal lives.
2Baba quickly clarified that his relationship with Natasha was unrelated to his separation from Annie, attempting to separate the two matters. Despite this, the news has continued to stir public conversation. In an unexpected twist, Rose Idibia, 2Baba’s mother, publicly pleaded with Natasha to distance herself from her son. She also made a peculiar statement urging Natasha to “remove the beads on his hands and neck,” suggesting that the singer was not in his right mind.
In response to these comments, Natasha has firmly defended the significance of the beads, explaining that they are symbols of her family’s royalty.
