Brazilian forward Antony is reportedly set to make an exit from his parent club Man United in the January 2025 transfer window.
Following what many have considered as signs of no future under the new leadership of Ruben Amorim at Man United, Brazilian forward Antony who has not started in any Premier League game at the club this season is reportedly set to make his exit on loan to Real Betis,
Earlier in the 2024/2025 season, speculations on the future of Antony had begun to take centre stage with both the player and the club denying the possibility of a move away from the club.
Speaking on the rumoured move, Antony’s agent Junior Pedroso in December 2024 told GiveMeSport, “Many clubs have approached us for Antony’s move in January. These clubs wanted to understand the situation for Antony, so I can confirm that there’s concrete interest. This move before the close of the January 2025 transfer window indicates that both sides have possibly come to an agreement they view as beneficial. I can say that Antony’s future is very much tied to Manchester United’s interests. If the club thinks it would be a good idea to loan Antony out in January so he can get more minutes and regain his trust, we will work together on that option. Otherwise, Antony is working hard to regain his place and show his best skills under the new coach Ruben Amorim.”
It has been revealed that Antony’s possible transfer to Real Betis would be from now till June 2025 with no option to buy indicating that the Brazilian might still be a part of Amorim’s plan for the upcoming season.
Speaking on Antony, Rubem Amorim had initially stated his plans for the forward. He revealed, “Like I said, I want to keep my players. I’m focused on this, these players. I don’t know what is going to happen. This window, we’ll see, but he did a good job.”
