Following a quiet June 2024 transfer window so far for Arsenal, the Mikel Arteta-led side in an official statement have given fans something to look forward to as the club confirmed its first player signing of the Summer transfer window.
Arsenal have now confirmed the permanent signing of the shot-stopper David Raya from Brentford following what has been categorised as the best debut season for a goalkeeper at the club.
David Raya, who was on loan to Arsenal for the 2023/2024 season had picked up the Premier League Golden Glove award for the 2023/2024 season following his 16 clean sheets in the league that season. He joined Arsenal on a season-long loan in August 2023 and quickly became Mikel Arteta’s first choice in goal, surpassing Aaron Ramsdale. Over the season, he managed 20 clean sheets in 41 games across all competitions.

His impressive performances helped Arsenal secure a runners-up finish in the Premier League and reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
How much did Arsenal pay to sign David Raya?
Reports indicate that Arsenal paid an estimated fee of 27 million pounds to complete the permanent signing of David Raya from Brentford. This is in addition to the initial 3 million pounds paid by the club for his loan move in August 2023.
