Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, is making headlines after reports surfaced that he has begun taking responsibility for his alleged father, Fatai Odunsi, following public criticism.

A few weeks ago, Odunsi went public, pleading for financial assistance due to his deteriorating health. In a viral video, he expressed disappointment over his son’s absence in his life, claiming Asake had not checked on him for a long time. His alleged baby mama also spoke out, detailing her role in his life and adding to the controversy.

In a recent interview with online personality Mr. Lilgaga, Odunsi stated that he is no longer holding grudges against the singer, as Asake has now taken steps to provide for his medical care. According to him, the singer has also instructed his team to find him a house and has promised to take responsibility for his supposed abandoned daughter.

During the interview, Mr. Lilgaga asked Odunsi if he had been a responsible father to Asake while he was growing up. In response, he insisted that no one could claim otherwise, maintaining that he did his best. Neighbors from Isale Eko, where Odunsi resides, also reportedly confirmed that he had been responsible for the singer’s upbringing.

As if responding to the allegations, Asake recently took to social media to share a freestyle video where he sang in Yoruba. In the clip, he seemingly addressed the controversy, singing, “You can’t satisfy the world. Anything you do, make sure you do it for God and remember the day we all die. Are you not seeing how it is all happening? Even my father wants to bring me down, but I stand and I am fit. You can’t turn off my light…”

Meanwhile, the lyrics have since sparked mixed reactions online, with many speculating that Asake was indirectly speaking on the situation with his alleged father.
