The artist took to X, sharing a tweet that read, “I thought we agreed that @Odumodublvck_will leave that Headies Award for me. Bros no be so ooo but no yawa sha. MAFFIANS we move. I have something for y’all soon.”
The tweet, which conveyed both a sense of friendly competition and optimism, quickly caught the attention of fans and industry followers. Maff’s message also hinted at exciting new music for his fanbase, known as “MAFFIANS.”
At the 2025 Headies, Odumodublvck had a standout night, taking home the coveted Next Rated award, which recognizes emerging talent in the Nigerian music scene. The artist also secured the Best Rap Single award for his track Cast featuring Shallipopi.
Despite not taking home a win himself, Ayo Maff had an impressive presence at the awards. He was nominated for the Best Street-Hop Artiste category for his collaboration with Fireboy DML on the track Dealer, but the late Mohbad ultimately claimed the award. Maff was also nominated for the prestigious Next Rated award alongside Odumodublvck, Qing Madi, Shallipopi, and Nasboi, but lost to Odumodublvck, who had a major night at the ceremony.
