Nigerian songstress Ayra Starr turned her recent birthday into an opportunity to give back to the community.
Notably, partnering with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI), the Afrobeats star provides a helping hand to 21 families in Agege, Lagos State.
The initiative went beyond simply providing food. Ayra Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, aims for long-term impact. Collaborating with LFBI, the program offered not only food relief boxes sufficient to sustain a family of five for a month, but also crucial training and resources.
“This outreach was tailored to meet the immediate short and long-term needs of the beneficiaries…” said the Executive Director of LFBI at the event. The program specifically focused on empowering women, providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to become successful poultry farmers.
Ayra Starr herself expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference. “I’m just so grateful for the chance to partner with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative… use my platform in such a meaningful and impactful way,” she stated.
Ayra Starr’s partnership is then an example of how music and social impact can come together to empower communities.
