Alakada: Bad and Boujee has set a new standard for Nigerian cinema, raking in a staggering ₦500 million at the box office! With this massive success, the comedy-drama has cemented its place as the 5th highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time, a testament to its widespread appeal and captivating storytelling.

Once again, the Alakada series proves to be a certified box office queen. The latest installment, Alakada: Bad and Boujee, continues the journey of Yetunde, played by the talented Toyin Abraham. This time, Yetunde’s struggles with self-doubt lead her to fabricate elaborate stories about her social status, sparking a series of comedic and relatable situations that resonate with audiences nationwide.

The movie, directed by Adebayo Tijani and written by Toyin Abraham, was released on December 20, 2024, by Filmone Distribution. Fans flocked to cinemas to witness the hilarious escapades of Yetunde Animashaun, a young woman from humble beginnings who pretends to be part of the social elite. Her journey, filled with humor, heart, and lessons about identity, social class, and self-perception, has captivated Nigerian moviegoers in a way that few films ever do.

Alongside Abraham, the film features an all-star cast including Odunlade Adekola, Ini Edo, Bimbo Akintola, Ronke Odusanya, and Okusanya Lolade. Yhemolee, Ik Ogbonna, and Chimezie Imo also play pivotal supporting roles, adding to the film’s diverse and talented ensemble.

Since its release, Alakada: Bad and Boujee has been taking cinemas by storm, breaking box office records and further proving the immense popularity of the Alakada franchise. With its unique blend of humor and insightful social commentary, this film has left an indelible mark on Nollywood history, proving that local talent and storytelling can compete on the global stage.

This monumental achievement is a victory not only for the cast and crew but for the entire Nigerian film industry, showcasing the immense potential of Nollywood to create world-class content that resonates with audiences both at home and abroad.
