Nigerian music star Burna Boy has released his evocative single, Don’t Let Me Drown, featured on the official soundtrack for F1 The Movie, which dropped earlier today. Part of the 17-track F1 The Album, released alongside the Apple Original Film starring Brad Pitt, the track brings a unique Afrofusion and soul vibe to the collection, joining songs by artists like Doja Cat, Roddy Ricch, and Darkoo. Produced with a haunting mix of orchestral strings and subtle percussion, it offers a narrative of vulnerability and resilience that echoes the racing world’s emotional stakes.

Don’t Let Me Drown starts with ethereal tones, setting a mystical mood as Burna Boy’s voice flows with lyrics like: “Nights like these, there’s something mystical about nights like these,” hinting at inner struggles. The chorus, with its raw: “Don’t let me down, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, don’t let me drown,” captures a sense of seeking strength amid pressure, mirroring the film’s portrayal of drivers facing their challenges. The production’s cinematic strings contrast the race’s adrenaline with a human touch, making it a standout listen on the album.

With snippets shared across social platforms stirring interest, fans have been quick to note its potential as a mood-setting track. Tied to the film’s U.S. premiere during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, Don’t Let Me Drown blends Burna Boy’s African roots with a universal sound, fitting seamlessly into the soundtrack’s diverse lineup. Available now on all major streaming platforms, the song invites listeners into a soul-stirring experience that goes beyond the racetrack.
