Afrobeat Icon Burna Boy headlined the Spill Gate Festival 2024.

In a remarkable milestone, the Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy showcased his talent as the headliner of the Spill Gate Festival in the Bahamas, delighting a vast audience with his repertoire of chart-topping songs. Videos shared on social media captured the enthusiastic crowd passionately singing along to his acclaimed track Tested, Approved, and Trusted, featured on Burna Boy’s seventh album, I Told Them, which earned a Grammy nomination.

Burna Boy was also the first African to perform at the 66th Grammy Award Ceremony. However, he and all other Nigerian artists lost all nominated categories. In addition to headlining the Spill Gate Festival, Nicki Minaj hinted at a collaboration with the Afrobeat icon. Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj teased a remix with Burna Boy. A remix of Tested, Approved & Trusted may be on its way. The Granddaughter of the iconic musician Bob Marley revealed that she would have wanted her grandfather to collaborate with Burna Boy of Fela Kuti.

Burna is once again in the social media spotlight for his ongoing feud with Edris Abdulkareem. Burna Boy reportedly took to social media platform, to address the issue. The Nigerian rapper Idris Abdulkareem addressed various topics, including Burna Boy’s statement from 2020. Burna Boy in an interview had stated that none of the industry stars in the past had supported him or offered help when he was starting his music career. Idris Abdulkareem has categorized the statement as ‘stupid talk’.
