Globally acclaimed Afrobeats star, Burna Boy is stepping into the world of filmmaking as an executive producer for the upcoming thriller 3 Cold Dishes.

This project, announced by Black Mic Mac—a content company focusing on film and TV by African and Middle Eastern talent—will be directed by Asurf Oluseyi and penned by Tomi Adesina.

3 Cold Dishes tells the gripping story of three teenagers, victims of sex trafficking, who reunite thirteen years later to seek vengeance. Set across Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire, the film will feature dialogue in French, Yoruba, and English. The production is a collaboration between Black Mic Mac, Ifind, Alma Prods., Asurf Films, and Martian Network, with Burna Boy’s Spaceship Films playing a key role.

Director Asurf Oluseyi described the film as a “groundbreaking pan-African” venture, highlighting the immense effort it took to bring the project to life. The cast includes renowned Nollywood actors such as Osas Ighodaro—who is also a co-executive producer—Wale Ojo, Femi Jacobs, Ruby Akubueze, Brutus Richards, and Greg Ojefua, alongside talent from Ivory Coast and Senegal. The soundtrack promises contributions from celebrated artists like Angelique Kidjo, Asa, Tems, Brymo, Johnny Drille, and Ayra Starr, with potential tracks from Burna Boy himself.

3 Cold Dishes is just one of several projects in Black Mic Mac’s impressive lineup. Other noteworthy films include The Devil Inside by South African filmmaker, Mandla Dube, The Three Rascals by Nigerian director Ishaya Bako, La Sape, a documentary by Congolese filmmaker, Jean Luc Herbulot, and Apophenia, an action movie by Loukman Ali set in Johannesburg.

Pape Boye, founder of Black Mic Mac, expressed his pride in collaborating with diverse filmmakers across the continent, aiming to discover and showcase new talent to a global audience.
