Cristiano Ronaldo in his latest interview at the Globa soccer awards has shared his thoughts on his former club, Man United signing Ruben Amorim.

During the Globe Soccer Awards, Cristiano Ronaldo shared his thoughts on the ongoing struggles at Man United under the management of Ruben Amorim. The Al Nassr captain and iconic Manchester United figure highlighted that the club’s challenges extend beyond the coaching staff.

Addressing the situation, Ronaldo defended Amorim, asserting he should not bear the brunt of the blame for the team’s difficulties. “The Premier League is the toughest league in the world,” Ronaldo remarked. “Every team is competitive, every team fights, runs, and shows strength. Football has evolved—there are no longer any easy matches.”

Using a striking metaphor, Ronaldo compared Manchester United’s predicament to an aquarium. “Imagine an aquarium with a sick fish. Even if you treat the fish and return it to the same tank, it will fall ill again. Manchester United’s problems are similar—they’re not just about the coach. There are deeper issues at play.”

Despite the challenges, Ronaldo voiced confidence in Amorim’s capabilities, citing his impressive record in Portugal. “He achieved great success with my Sporting back in Portugal. But the Premier League is a different challenge, the most competitive league globally. I always knew it would be tough, but storms do pass. The sun will rise again. I’m hopeful for Amorim and Manchester United because it’s a club I continue to hold dear.”

Ronaldo’s remarks come at a time when Manchester United is struggling in the Premier League, having lost half of their first ten games under Amorim’s management. The Portuguese coach, who replaced Erik ten Hag last month, is facing growing pressure to reverse the team’s fortunes.
