Former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is one of the most criticised players at Manchester United following the poor form of the club in the past two seasons.
However, on the contrary, Casemiro has tagged his first season at Manchester United as one of the best times of his football career since his days at Real Madrid. The Brazilian was speaking in an interview where he confirmed that Old Trafford saw the best of him as compared to his days in Spain.
He said,
“Individually, my best season as a footballer was the first with Man United. I am not saying collectively in terms of titles. Madrid’s UCL is the ultimate but as a player, I think Old Trafford saw the best version of Casemiro in my first year.”
Casemiro joined the Red Devils in August 2022, having signed a four-year contract with the option to extend for another year. The transfer deal was worth £70 million, with an initial £60 million payment to Real Madrid and £10 million in add-ons.
In his first season with Manchester United, he won the EFL Cup, scoring the opening goal in the 2-0 victory against Newcastle United in the final.
