R&B singer Cassie Ventura returned to the witness stand on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, delivering harrowing testimony in the ongoing federal trial against music mogul Sean Diddy Combs.

The 38-year-old artist recounted a decade-long relationship marked by manipulation, violence, and abuse.

During her second day of testimony at the Manhattan federal court, Cassie Ventura alleged that Diddy raped her in her Los Angeles apartment after she attempted to leave the relationship. She described being coerced into participating in what Combs allegedly called “freak-offs”, prolonged sex sessions involving male escorts, which he would record and supervise.

Cassie emotionally revealed her fear of the explicit tapes being leaked, potentially damaging her career and reputation. “I feared for my career. I feared for my family. It’s just embarrassing and horrible. No one should do that to anyone,” she testified.

Prosecutors presented graphic still images from the alleged videos in court, visibly unsettling jurors. In addition to the abuse, Cassie disclosed details of violent incidents, including a 2013 assault that left her with a head wound requiring stitches and a 2016 hotel attack captured on security footage.

Text messages exchanged between Cassie and Combs were also submitted as evidence, with conversations referencing drug use and preparations for these so-called “freak-offs.” In one message, Combs urged her to stay off ketamine before a session, while Cassie expressed her emotional exhaustion from their encounters.

Cassie originally filed a lawsuit against Combs in 2023, which was swiftly settled for $20 million. Since then, multiple women have come forward with similar allegations. Combs, who has been in custody since September 2024, faces serious charges including sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and racketeering.

While his legal team acknowledges instances of domestic violence, they firmly deny claims of sex trafficking and organized criminal behavior, arguing the government is unfairly targeting Combs for his private sexual preferences.

The trial, expected to last several more weeks, continues to unravel disturbing accounts from other alleged victims, further exposing a dark chapter in the history of the music industry.
