Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca has started life at the club on a fantastic note following his impressive form in the Premier League.
The Italian has seen his Chelsea side lose just one game in the Premier League so far which was against the Champions ( Manchester City). Enzo Maresca was asked about the chances of the Blues beating City and Arsenal to the title at the end of this season in May 2025.
Enzo Maresca was speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier league game against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, October 6, 2024. According to him, there is no way the Blues can beat the Cityzens and Gunners to the title.
He said,
Competing to win the Premier League? I really don’t think we can compete with Man City or Arsenal now. We are not ready. Man City worked with Pep for nine years. Arsenal, five years. Us, three months.The target is to slowly, slowly, get closer. When you win games, it provides energy, trust, confidence. It’s helping the process but the players are the first to recognise when the team plays well or not. They’re especially convinced because they can see the identity and the purpose.”
The last time Chelsea won the league was in 2016 when an Italian manager( Antonio Conte) was in charge of the club. However, most Chelsea fans will hope Chelsea can’t win the Premier League title- Enzo Maresca they can win the title at the end of this season.
