Chelsea have reportedly received the first transfer bid for their French forward, Christopher Nkunku, as the new season draws closer.

According to fresh reports, as the 2025 summer updates come in thick and fast, Bayern Munich have identified Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku as one of their priority targets for the ongoing transfer window, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that talks over a potential move are underway.

The Bundesliga champions see Nkunku as an ideal fit for their squad due to his ability to operate across multiple attacking positions, offering both creativity and goal-scoring threat.

It has been identified that Bayern’s interest is concrete; as such, the feasibility of the deal will largely depend on the overall cost proposed by the 2025 Club World Cup champions.

Chelsea are expected to demand a significant fee for the French international, who only joined the club from RB Leipzig last summer. Despite an injury-hit debut season at Stamford Bridge, Nkunku remains highly regarded across Europe for his versatility, technical ability, and clinical finishing.

Sources indicate that Bayern are not the only club monitoring the 26-year-old. Several top European sides have made enquiries about his availability this summer, making it an open and potentially competitive situation.

Nkunku’s familiarity with the Bundesliga, where he excelled during his time at RB Leipzig, adds to his appeal for Bayern, who are looking to refresh their attacking options under new management. Should negotiations progress positively, the move could see Nkunku return to Germany just one year after leaving for the Premier League.

With multiple clubs in the race, Bayern will need to act decisively if they are to secure one of their top transfer targets before the window closes.

Xavi Simons’ transfer update

Chelsea will be looking to finalise the transfer for Xavi Simons the moment the Nkunku deal is finalised, according to fresh transfer update. The Blues are, however, expected to face stiff competition for the forward as it has been revealed that Man City have also shown interest in signing the Dutch star.
