Chelsea Football Club have reportedly opened talks with Borussia Dortmund over Jamie Gittens ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The 20-year-old has been in the radar of the Blues since the 2025 January transfer window as they continue in their bid to build a formidable team. The Telegraph confirmed that Chelsea have continued from where they left off as it concerns a deal for Jamie Gittens.
This deal puts the future of Jadon Sancho, who is on loan from Manchester United, in doubt despite Chelsea having a contractual obligation to buy for between £20 million and £25 million, having finished in the top 14 at the end of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
However, the Blues can decide to opt out of the deal and pay a £5 million exit penalty fee. Gittens who was part of Chelsea’s academy as a child, has been expected to attract bids from top clubs aside from the Blues.
The Premier League transfer window is open between June 1 and June 10 due to the Club World Cup and will then reopen from June 16 until September 1.
