Chelsea Football Club took a giant step as they looked to win their first trophy under the new owners led by Todd Boehly.
The Blues scored six goals against Middlesbrough in the game, this result means this is Chelsea’s
biggest ever League Cup semi-final second-leg win surpassing Liverpool’s 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace in 2001. Chelsea lost the first leg by one goal at the Rivers Side Stadium which gave Boro supporters a bit of confidence heading into the game.
Chelsea scored four goals in the first half with goals coming from Enzo Fernandez, Axel Disasi and Cole Palmer. Palmer got his brace in the second half before Noni Madueke completed the riot for the Blues.
Chelsea will be looking to win the tournament for the sixth time as they await the winner of the game between Liverpool and Fulham for the winner’s medal next month.
