It has been revealed that Chelsea will miss more players in the fixture against Brighton by Enzo Maresca in his pre-match press conference.

Ahead of the FA Cup fixture, Chelsea vs Brighton it has been revealed that more players for The Blues have picked up fresh injuries ahead of the highly anticipated fixture.

It has been revealed that a total of 13 players are expected to miss the Chelsea vs Brighton FA Cup fixture due to one injury or the other. Enzo Maresca in his pre-match press conference revealed that Chelsea has received more bad news in terms of injury as two key players have now joined the long injury list.

It has been revealed that Nicholas Jackson and Marc Guiu are both expected to miss the fixture against Brighton due to injury.

Discussing the extent of Marc Guiu’s injury, Enzo revealed that the newly signed youngster is expected to be out for some time after sustaining a leg abductor injury in the fixture played against West Ham on Monday.

When asked how long Marc is expected to be out for and if he can confirm his return date, Enzo revealed, “No because we are still waiting. It doesn’t look a short injury, it looks a long injury. Exactly how long, we don’t know. Probably weeks or months.”

During Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United earlier this week, the team suffered a double setback as two of their striker options picked up injuries. Both Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu were forced off at different points in the match, raising concerns over Chelsea’s attacking depth.

Jackson appeared to have picked up a hamstring injury in the fixture after an awkward fall, while Guiu seemed to have sustained a groin or knee issue during an attacking move in stoppage time. With Chelsea having offloaded some of their attacking options, including Joao Felix, during the transfer window, the squad now faces a shortage of strikers if either player is sidelined for an extended period.

Speaking on this Enzo revealed that Jackson’s injury had not been one to keep him on the sidelines for a long time and that he is expected to return soon.

He stated, “Marc unfortunately has a bad injury. Nico is better. Could be. It also could be a risk but we’ll see. But it doesn’t look a long injury?”

Enzo Maresca confirmed that other players like Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana and many more remain out even though they are slowly working their way back to match fitness.
