Chidinma Adetshina, who represented Nigeria at the recent 2024 Miss Universe contest, has been conferred the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
At the pageant held in Mexico on Saturday, Chidinma came second to the eventual winner, Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer. She was conferred the titles after finishing as the highest-placed African at the contest
Her performance at the contest sparked rave reviews from her fans and admirers worldwide with encomiums pouring in since. Notably, South Africans have joined in praising Chidinma for her exploits.
This has sparked quite a conflict between them and Nigerians, with the latter warning off the former after how the Southern African nation treated Chidinma during the pageant in their country.
Xenophobic attacks had greeted Chidinma while in South Africa, with her family coming under attack over her exploits in the Miss South Africa pageant.
Chidinma then returned to Nigeria and has found success both at home and in the diaspora since then.
