Cole Palmer bags another prestigious award

Chelsea’s midfielder, Cole Palmer has been named the winner of the PFA fans’ Player of the Year award for his impressive performance for the Blues this season ( 2023/24).

The Professional Football Association announced Cole Palmer as the winner of the award on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. The English international won the award having enmassed the highest number of points amongst all the nominated players.

Palmer has had a remarkable season across all competitions since he joined Chelsea from the 2023/24 Premier League Champions, Manchester City during the 2023 summer.

How many players were nominated for the award?

Manchester City trio Phil Foden, Rodri and Erling Haaland, Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, William Saliba and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins were all nominated for the award.

How many goals did Cole Palmer score for Chelsea in the Premier?

Palmer scored 22 goals and 11 assists in the league as the Blues secured a six-placed finish.

How many awards did Cole Palmer win in his first season for Chelsea?

He was also named the club’s Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, and the Young Player of the Season.

The 22-year-old has been included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional England squad for Euro 2024 which will kick off in June 2024.
