Collaborating between new artists strengthens bonds – Victony

Nigerian music sensation Victony has shared his insights on the importance of collaboration among new artists, highlighting its role in fostering strong bonds within the industry.

In a recent interview, the multi-talented artist, known for his unique blend of Afrobeat, R&B, and hip-hop, emphasized the significance of working together with fellow up-and-coming musicians. “Collaborating doesn’t take away anything from anybody,” Victony said. “It’s not just about creating music; it’s about building relationships and learning from each other’s unique perspectives.”

Victony, who has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Omah Lay, Buju, and Oxlade, among others, has seen firsthand the benefits of working with his fellow talents. These collaborations not only lead to the creation of memorable music but also provide opportunities for artists to learn from each other’s styles and approaches to songwriting and production.

“(collaboration) just only strengthens the movement, and you know Afrobeats is is a fresh Runner and I feel like we need more collaboration at this time you know to push it forward,” Victony said. I feel every young artist kind has that idea… and I think that’s what just strengthens our relationship.”

The 23-year-old artist, who gained international recognition with his hit collaboration Holy Father, has been a vocal advocate for the Nigerian music scene, often highlighting the importance of supporting and uplifting fellow artists. In his view, collaborations among new artists are key to the industry’s growth and development. Victony’s comments come when the Nigerian music scene is experiencing a surge in popularity, with artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Tems leading the way. As the industry continues to grow and evolve, collaborations among new artists will play an increasingly important role in shaping its future.
