Nigerian singer Zamorra has voiced his opinion online. According to the artist, gospel music should not be commercialized.

Afrobeat artist Abdulateef Oluwashina Adekunle also known as Zamorra has sparked controversy on social media. The Afrobeat artist voiced his views on gospel music, despite his primary genre being Afrobeat. He expressed his opinion that commercializing gospel music is deceitful, asserting that it should remain free. According to him, gospel music embodies the message of Jesus’ good news.

This means that Zamorra believes that gospel music should not be treated as a commercial product or sold for profit. He likely believes that the message and essence of gospel music are sacred and should be freely shared with others without any financial motives.

COMMERCIALIZING Gospel music is a SCAM!!!! It’s the GOSPEL! it’s to be FREE!!!! It’s an awkward occupation , lol really, commercializing the good news cos you made dem into melodies? How many hymnal composers were invited to your church to perform Hymns while you were growing up…

Zamorra questioned his followers about the absence of hymn composers in their church experiences during their upbringing. When questioned about how gospel artists should support themselves financially, the Nigerian singer replied that they should seek supplementary employment.

Via his social media, he said, “COMMERCIALIZING Gospel music is a SCAM!!!! It’s the GOSPEL! it’s to be FREE!!!! It’s an awkward occupation, lol really, commercializing the good news cos you made dem into melodies? How many hymnal composers were invited to your church to perform Hymns while you were growing up”.
