Rising reggae producer Daggy Busker makes a bold entrance with his debut EP Hollywood Rasta, a modern roots reggae project steeped in global collaboration, introspection, and a return to authenticity.

Across five richly textured tracks, Hollywood Rasta unites musicians from Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia, forming a truly international soundscape. From the soulful rhythms of Cameroon to the dub-inflected tones of Canada, the EP is a genre-blending journey grounded in reggae roots and elevated by worldly perspective.

The title track Hollywood Rasta stands out as both a sonic anthem and a cultural critique. With a smooth yet searing hook—“Hollywood rasta, not the real thing / Learn all your culture from a magazine” Daggy Busker questions identity, image, and the commercialization of conscious music. It’s a track that challenges listeners while delivering infectious energy.

The previously released single Zion Meditation drew early acclaim, with Groove Africa calling it “a beautifully crafted song that transcends borders, cultures, and genres.” Rolling Stone en Español took note too, featuring Daggy in Reggae Around the World: 20 Artists to Discover the Global Vibe—a nod to his growing influence beyond Japan’s borders.

From Nairobi to Montreal, Buenos Aires to London, Daggy Busker’s collaborators each lend their voice to a record shaped by movement and memory. The project reflects Daggy’s own nomadic roots and diverse background, drawing from the sounds and sensibilities of every place he’s called home.

Recorded across five continents, Hollywood Rasta is more than a debut—it’s a passport stamped with cultural connection, musical integrity, and reggae spirit. Each song offers a different lens into Daggy’s journey, fusing retro textures with modern production and timeless messages.

Whether you’re a lifelong reggae fan or a new listener seeking depth and soul, Hollywood Rasta invites you to step into a world where modern roots get real, and where authenticity is always the message.
