In a recent interview with The Baller Alert, Omah Lay disclosed that he and Davido have a forthcoming collaboration, which has generated considerable excitement among their fanbase.

“Actually, we have a song, and it’s coming out soon. I am very excited about the record because it’s something I never imagined would be this great and cool,” Omah Lay shared.

He characterized the collaboration as seamless, highlighting the rapport they established during the creative process.

“The way we got along and made the record is so cool, and Davido is also an amazing person,” he added.

Omah Lay also touched upon the increasing visibility of Afrobeats in the United States, noting that Davido distinguishes himself among numerous Nigerian artists gaining international recognition. “Davido is a legend. He is big, big,” he asserted, recognizing the pivotal role Davido has played in the global expansion of the genre.

This revelation follows a period in which Omah Lay sparked discussions online by suggesting that he perceived some negativity from Davido towards him. While he refrained from disclosing the title of the song, Omah Lay indicated that its release is imminent. The track is anticipated to precede his highly awaited second album, which he mentioned he had to restart after his initial concept was taken by another artist.

In other related news, Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, took the stage by storm with an unforgettable performance at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The event, held on Tuesday, September 24, marked the 75th anniversary of the UBA Group and celebrated 40 successful years of operations in the United States.

Davido's Performance

The elegant gala was hosted by Tony Elumelu, the visionary Chairperson of United Bank for Africa, and attracted key staff members, prominent business figures, and industry moguls, all eagerly anticipating the night’s highlights.

Sharing his excitement ahead of the event, Davido took to social media platform X, stating, “Touchdown New York City for the #UN General Assembly… My first time attending should be interesting. Also performing tonight at one of the events! Catch me if you can!” This marked his debut attendance at the prestigious assembly, and fans were eager to see what he had in store.

As expected, Davido’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. His signature OBO style energized the crowd, with attendees swaying and cheering as he performed a medley of his biggest hits. From timeless anthems to his latest chart-topping tracks, Davido delivered a show that had the audience dancing and celebrating the night away. The performance turned the gala into an all-out party, with guests swept up in the electrifying atmosphere.

The excitement surrounding Davido’s performance extended beyond the stage. After his set, he mingled with key figures like Tony Elumelu and other notable attendees, sharing moments of joy and camaraderie. Laughter filled the room as Davido posed for selfies and enjoyed the celebration alongside business leaders, perfectly capturing the spirit of a night that blended business and entertainment.

Davido’s performance at the UN General Assembly further solidified his reputation as a global music icon, capable of lighting up any stage. The event not only showcased his incredible talent but also highlighted his growing influence on the world stage, making it a night to remember for all who attended.
