Davido has registered 30BG Sports Club, for the ongoing Lagos Liga Tournament, a private football league where non-professional footballers and former players come to play 7-aside for big prizes and the fans can win in the skills challenge.
The league is open to old and new clubs across the world. The winner of the tournament will go home with 50 million Naira, and there are prizes for the best supporters group, MVP, Highest goal scorers, and more.
Davido is known for his influence which transcends music and entertainment, cutting across culture, politics, and other layers of the human experience. He’s very intentional about being involved in other things aside from his music, and his decision to involve himself and his brand in a growing part of Nigerian sports.
He joins other celebrities like Don Jazzy and Dbanj as club owners in the league. Don Jazzy owns Supremos FC while Dbanj owns Koko FC. They compete with other club owners for a cash prize of 50 million Naira. The competition has some rules and guidelines that provide order to the level of decisive actions allowed.
Lagos Liga is open to everyone, including retired footballers. Only current professional footballers are exempted. The matches will be broadcast live on YouTube and the finale of the competition is scheduled for 27th December.
