Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, Grammy-winning producer Kaytranada, and Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley are set to headline AfroFuture Festival as it makes its U.S. debut in Detroit on August 16-17, 2025.

The festival, formerly known as Afrochella, has been a major celebration of African music and culture in Ghana since 2017 and is now bringing its vibrant mix of Afrobeats, Amapiano, hip-hop, and electronic music to an American audience for the first time.

Joining the star-studded lineup is Nigerian highlife sensation Flavour, known for his hit Nwa Baby, and Lojay, the rising Afrobeats artist behind the global hit Monalisa. French-Congolese singer and rapper Gims, a veteran of the African and European music scenes, will also take the stage, along with Brazilian funk star Ludmilla.

The AfroFuture Festival will be held at Bedrock’s Douglass Site in Detroit and produced by Paxahau, the team behind Detroit’s Movement Festival and the Detroit Jazz Festival. AfroFuture will not only feature live performances but also a marketplace for Black designers, interactive cultural exhibits, and parties hosted by collectives such as Jerk X Jollof, Days Like This, Obi’s House, and Toasted Life.

AfroFuture CEO and co-founder Abdul Karim Abdullah described the festival as a fusion of music, fashion, beauty, and food, celebrating Black culture while embracing innovation. Presale tickets go on sale from today, March 20, 2025, with Delta Airlines offering discounted flights for attendees traveling to Detroit.
