Afrobeats sensation Davido is set to make history with his inaugural concert at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden on April 17, 2024. This momentous event will be a highlight of his extensive Timeless Tour across North America, organized by Duke Concept.
The highly-anticipated tour will commence with a monumental show at Madison Square Garden, followed by captivating performances at Montreal’s Place Bell on April 19 and a grand finale at Orlando’s Additional Financial Arena on April 24.
Expressing his excitement, Davido shared, “Seven years ago, I walked past Madison Square Garden and looked at it and said, ‘We gonna come back and shut this down.’ So to be here now, able to play Madison Square Garden, in New York, one of the first cities and fans to embrace my music, at this iconic venue … it’s a dream come true.”
This landmark performance follows the successes of Nigerian artists Burna Boy and Wizkid at MSG in April 2022 and November 2022, respectively, underscoring the increasing influence of Nigerian music globally.
Adding to the anticipation, Davido has earned nominations in prestigious categories for the 2024 Grammy Awards, including Best African Music Performance for his hit ‘Unavailable’ with Musa Keys and Best Global Music Album for his acclaimed fourth studio album, Timeless.
Released in March 2023 under Davido Music Worldwide, Timeless reached No. 37 on the Billboard 200 and claimed the No. 2 spot on World Albums. The album’s title track secured remarkable positions at No. 3 on both U.S. Afrobeats Songs and World Digital Song Sales charts.
