
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, appears unbothered by the news of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s passing, choosing instead to focus on personal reflections while on tour.
Since the former president’s death on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at a London clinic, tributes and mixed reactions have poured in from Nigerians, including public figures and celebrities. Many fans, however, had been curious to see if Davido would publicly address the development.
Rather than comment directly on the situation, the 5ive Tour headliner took to his Instagram page to share a thought-provoking quote about human relationships. He posted: “I’ve learnt that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel,” accompanied by several emojis and tour-related hashtags.
The quote, famously credited to American writer Maya Angelou, quickly sparked conversations online, with fans interpreting it as a subtle commentary on the current mood in the country following Buhari’s death.
