Nigerian music sensation Davido is concluding a phenomenal 2023 with his fourth album, ‘Timeless,’ achieving unprecedented success by becoming the most streamed album on Spotify in sub-Saharan Africa for the year.

As a multi-award-winning artist, Davido’s ‘Timeless’ has not only broken multiple streaming records but has also garnered significant acclaim, earning a nomination for Best Global Album at the 2024 Grammy Nominations. This recognition marks a triumphant moment for Davido, securing three nominations in his debut appearance, including Best Global Performance for ‘Feel’ and Best African Music Performance for ‘Unavailable’ featuring Musa Keys.

According to Spotify Wrapped 2023, which compiles music data for the year, ‘Timeless’ outshines its competitors to claim the top spot in sub-Saharan Africa. The album’s success is evident not only in its streaming numbers but also in its impact on the music scene.

The top 10 most streamed albums in sub-Saharan Africa on Spotify for 2023 feature Davido’s ‘Timeless’ at the pinnacle, followed by Asake’s ‘Work of Art’ and Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them.’ Noteworthy additions to the list include Omah Lay’s ‘Boy Alone,’ Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses Ultra,’ and Asake’s ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe.’

A surprising entry comes from ODUMODUBLVCK, whose mixtape ‘Eziokwu’ claims the tenth position, adding a diverse and unexpected dimension to the list.
