Nigerian singer, Oladapo Oyebanjo, better known as D’banj, has shared insights into his lucrative venture during his first reality show in 2009, “Koko Mansion.”

Speaking as a guest on TVC’s Your View in a clip that surfaced online on Friday, May 17, 2024, the renowned artist reminisced about his financial success during the show’s run, where contestants vied for a cash prize of N5 million and additional gifts.

D’banj revealed that he cashed in significantly from the reality show, as he was paid a staggering $1 million, a remarkable feat considering the absence of shows like Big Brother Naija at the time.

In addition to reflecting on his past achievements, D’banj hinted at plans for his upcoming 20-year anniversary as a singer. Although he kept details sparse, he mentioned meetings with collaborators for new songs in anticipation of the milestone.

The music icon, who recently extended an apology to fellow artist Don Jazzy, also expressed gratitude towards Peruzzi, praising the talented songwriter as a great writer. D’banj highlighted his fortune in collaborating with Peruzzi on one of his tracks. Additionally, he acknowledged Timaya for his support and assistance throughout his career journey.

As D’banj continues to navigate the music industry and reflect on his legacy, fans eagerly await further details about his upcoming anniversary celebrations and potential new releases.
