The high-profile federal trial involving U.S. rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs continued into its second week on Tuesday, with shocking new testimony shedding more light on the allegations against the music executive.
Diddy, 55, is facing a barrage of civil claims linked to sex trafficking, drug abuse, and coercion, with multiple witnesses taking the stand to share disturbing accounts of his alleged behavior.
Among those who testified was David James, Combs’ former personal assistant, who alleged that the rapper was a frequent drug user during his time working for him.
“He usually took opiates during the day and ecstasy at night,” James told the court, adding that his duties often included picking up drugs for Combs and his associates, as well as delivering items like condoms and lubricant to hotel rooms.
James recalled once witnessing the Bad Boy Records founder ingest a uniquely shaped ecstasy pill:
“It looked like the face of a former president.”When asked by prosecutor Christy Slavik which one, he replied: “President Obama.”
The court also revisited last week’s explosive testimony from singer and model Cassie Ventura, Combs’ former girlfriend. Ventura detailed years of alleged abuse, claiming the rapper coerced her into drug-fueled “freak off” sex parties that left her with recurring UTIs and mouth sores.
She described the environment as one of emotional manipulation, power imbalance, and constant surveillance.
Combs’ legal team, however, pushed back on the narrative, attempting to portray Ventura as a willing participant. In court, they introduced a 2009 text message allegedly sent by Ventura to Combs stating she was “already for a freak off,” and another message where she reportedly said, “I’m lost without you” while she was dating her now-husband, Alex Fine.
The ongoing case is being closely followed due to Combs’ status as one of the most powerful figures in hip hop and business. Over the past year, the rapper has faced multiple lawsuits and public allegations tied to sexual misconduct and abuse—charges he has vehemently denied.
