Diddy's Sex Trafficking Trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025, after a U.S. judge made the decision on Thursday, October 10.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, who faces federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, appeared in Manhattan federal court before Judge Arun Subramanian. His family, including his mother and six of his children, were present to support him. Dressed in a tan prison outfit, Combs smiled and waved at his family before hugging his attorneys. The 54-year-old music mogul had pleaded not guilty on September 17 to a three-count indictment. The charges allege that Diddy used his business empire, including Bad Boy Entertainment, to transport women and male sex workers across state lines for recorded sexual performances, referred to as “Freak Offs.”

During the hearing, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian confirmed the trial date. Prosecutor Emily Johnson stated that the prosecution’s case in Diddy’s Sex Trafficking Trial would take at least three weeks, while defense attorney Marc Agnifilo estimated the defense case would last about a week. Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest, and his appeal for bail is still pending.

If convicted in Diddy’s Sex Trafficking Trial, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and up to life for charges that include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of prosecution.

Prosecutors allege that Diddy lured women with drugs like ketamine and ecstasy, financial incentives, or promises of career support or romantic relationships. He then reportedly used secret recordings of the sexual acts as “collateral” to silence the women, and sometimes displayed weapons to intimidate victims and witnesses. While the indictment does not accuse Combs of directly engaging in unwanted sexual acts, he is charged with physically assaulting women.

Recall that Diddy’s mom issued a heartfelt statement through her lawyer, Natlie G. Figgers, expressing her devastation over the public’s treatment of her son.

She stated, “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies.”

She described the public reaction as a “public lynching” and shared her emotional pain over the situation. While defending him, Diddy’s mother acknowledged her son’s past mistakes, specifically referring to a 2016 hotel incident involving his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, saying, “I am not here to portray my son as perfect because he is not.”

She explained that sometimes the truth and lies become intertwined, which may have influenced her son’s decision to settle Cassie’s lawsuit out of court.

Janice Combs also suggested that many of the current allegations are financially motivated, pointing out how quickly her son’s legal team settled the lawsuit. She expressed her frustration over the public ridicule and jokes surrounding her son’s legal battles, saying, “Watching the world make jokes and laugh at my son’s life crumbling before our eyes is something I can never forget.”

In her closing remarks, she reiterated her hope for justice, praying for the day her son could tell his side of the story and be vindicated.
