Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has shared the story of his first encounter with music sensation and DMW label owner, David Adeleke widely known as Davido.
Don Jazzy shared insights on the latest episode of Zero Conditions podcast on Friday, January 12, 2024, revealing his early recognition of Davido’s potential during their time together at Mo’ Hits Records.
Don Jazzy, who is also an artiste shared how he first felt about Davido, thinking that Davido and his record label (DMW) would become a big deal in the music world.
In his words, “When I heard Back When, I thought Davido was going to be the next me because he sang and produced the song.”
When he was asked if he knew Davido would be successful, Don Jazzy said he saw Davido really loved music. Even though Davido is rich, Don Jazzy pointed out that his true love for music shows in what he shares on Twitter and Instagram.
Don Jazzy also said that even if Davido decides to stop making music, he believes Davido will still live a good life, flying in private jets.
“Go to Davido’s page he has passion for music, especially if he stops today, he is still going to fly a private jet,” he said.
This shows how much Davido truly loves music, not just for the money.
