Davido could not hide his joy as he took to his social media account to celebrate meeting his goals and issued a word of caution to those who undervalue and underestimate him.

An X user on the platform listed all the goals that many critics had claimed Davido would never accomplish. The user highlighted that not only has Davido achieved those goals, but he has also surpassed them. In response, Davido shared on his Instagram story, advising others not to underestimate the power of God. He said, “Don’t play with God”.

Davido has navigated through various controversies, dealing with persistent challenges such as ongoing disputes with multiple baby mamas and unfavorable comparisons to other notable Nigerian artists.

Some critics even assert that he cannot sing and only shouts. Adding to the challenges, Davido and his entire family experienced a heartbreaking tragedy with the loss of his son Ifeanyi in October 2022. Despite these adversities, Davido has shown resilience and determination, surpassing expectations to solidify his position as a top-tier artist.

“He’d never be Grammy-nominated.” He proved them wrong.

“No Billboard Hot 100 entry.” He achieved it.

“No UK certification.” He secured it.

“100 million on Spotify.” He exceeded it.

They never learn. Davido isn’t one to be dared. He’ll relegate your fave and lock up the city.

He achieved his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 on Chris Brown’s track Sensational alongside Lojay. Furthermore, his latest album, Timeless, earned him three Grammy nominations—Best Global Album, Best African Performance for the song “Unavailable,” and Best Global Music Performance for the song Feel. As Davido aptly puts it, “Delay is not Denial”. His 2019 song Assurance was also featured in a prominent Hollywood blockbuster, Coming to America 2.

This versatile artist achieved a remarkable feat by selling out the O2 Arena for the third time. He had previously accomplished this milestone in 2019 and 2022, and now, he added 2024 to the list. Additionally, he commenced mentoring his protégé, Morravey. On the personal front, Davido and his now-wife Chioma Rowland welcomed a set of twins into their family. To cap it off, Davido received a silver certification from the UK for the song Unavailable.
