With streaming services and independent distributors performing strong, Netflix received 16 nominations, the most nominations for any individual distributor this year. Emilia Perez is the frontrunner for Netflix has it amassed 13 nominations from the 16 nominations for the Streaming platform.

If she wins the Best Actress award at the 2025 Oscars, she will go one step further by becoming the youngest person to join the EGOT Club at the age of 38, with the youngest ever being at 39, this feat was achieved by Robert Lopez in 1975.
Conan O’Brien has been announced as the host of the 97th Oscars by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which will take place on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
