Veteran Nigerian Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam 1, has addressed swirling rumours about trouble in his marriage and alleged plans to reconcile with his ex-wife, Titilola “Titi” Marshal.
In a candid interview, the 68-year-old music icon set the record straight, affirming that he remains married to Emmanuella Ropo Ayinde-Marshal and has no intentions of rekindling any romance with Titi, despite their recent public appearance together during his mother’s burial in Ogun State.
“Emmanuella is still my wife. I have no issues with her,” Kwam 1 stated. “I only advised her to step back from social media and focus on her business. That’s all.”
The speculation began after Kwam 1 and his ex-wife Titi were spotted together, sparking talk of a reconciliation. Adding fuel to the fire were whispers of tension between the singer and Emmanuella. But Kwam 1 insists there’s no crisis—just a deliberate step back to focus on more pressing matters.
“I’m deeply involved in the construction of my resort—it’s a massive project. I needed to focus, to hide my head so I wouldn’t be distracted. That’s why I told my wife to take things easy and stay off social media.”
The Fuji maestro acknowledged that Emmanuella may not have received the advice well, but he defended his decision as one born out of maturity and purpose.
“She has every right to her own reaction. But I’m 68—do I need to fool myself with unnecessary drama?”
On the topic of his former wife, Kwam 1 was clear: while their marriage is over, he remains devoted to the children they share.
“Titi Marshal is gone forever. But should I ignore the three children she gave me? That wouldn’t be right. Still, there’s no going back, no new marriage plans either.”
Firmly shutting down rumours of taking another wife, he stressed that his priorities have shifted toward business, including farming and the ongoing resort construction, which he says consumes 90% of his resources.
“I’m now into business full-time, aside from music. What lies ahead of me is bigger than just thinking about marriage. I haven’t married anyone else, and I’m not planning to.”
Kwam 1 married Titi in 2018 and tied the knot with Emmanuella in 2021.
