Chelsea’s season might have gone from bad to worse as the latest update from the club indicate that Enzo Fernandez and Axel Disasi have joined the long list of players who remain out due to injury.
The player injury update shared by Chelsea today, Friday, April 12, 2024, confirmed that both Enzo Fernandez and Axel Disasi who have both been integral in the club’s campaign this season have been sidelined due to injury concerns by the club.
The statement made use of the phrase ‘undergoing medical assessment’ indicating that the cause of the players’ injury has not been confirmed yet. Assistant captain Ben Chilwell has been confirmed to have returned to partial team training which also confirms that he would also not be available for selection this weekend.
Raheem Sterling and goalkeeper Sanchez have also been confirmed to miss the fixture due to illness. It remains uncertain how much of this would impact the team’s performance over the weekend but fans are hopeful the Blues can pick up maximum points to keep their Europe dreams alive.
It is expected that Trevoh Chalobah might partner with Thiago Silva in the Blues fixture against Sean Dyche’s Everton this weekend.
