Nigerian rapper, Erigga, has offered a thought-provoking reminder to creatives about the importance of acting on their ideas without delay.
The rapper took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to share a message that has since sparked meaningful conversations across social media.
In his post, Erigga noted that when people sit on their ideas for too long, it’s not unusual for those same ideas to eventually come to life through someone else. He emphasized that this doesn’t necessarily mean the idea was copied, but rather that its time had arrived and it naturally found expression through a different creator.
“If you have an idea you’re excited about and you don’t bring it to life, it’s not uncommon for the idea to find its voice through another maker,” Erigga wrote. “This isn’t because the other artist stole your idea, but because the idea’s time has come.”
His words quickly resonated with many within the creative community, as several followers took to the comments to share personal stories of how they had once hesitated on concepts, only to later see similar projects executed by others.
Erigga, known for his raw and relatable takes on street culture and everyday struggles, once again struck a chord with his audience reminding creatives of the importance of courage, timing, and execution in a fast-paced world where ideas wait for no one.
