Davido has revealed the powerful influence his wife, Chioma Adeleke, has on his life and career, admitting that his business tends to take a hit whenever they have a disagreement.

Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has credited his wife, Chioma Adeleke, as a major pillar behind his success, revealing that his career and business ventures tend to suffer whenever they are not on good terms.

Speaking during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the DMW boss opened up about the impact his marital life has had on his professional journey. According to Davido, Chioma has always had a special influence over him, even before they got married.

“My wife has always had things over me since we were young,” he shared. “Every time I fight her, something bad happens to my business. She’ll say, ‘So you’re fighting me? Your album is coming, do you want to fight me?’ She has that grace over me.”

Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, the singer revealed that they met while in school at the age of 18 and 17 respectively, and have been together for over a decade. Their bond evolved from friendship to romance, and now marriage.

Davido also touched on Chioma’s relationship with his children from other relationships, particularly noting the bond she shares with his daughter Hailey. “My kids love her, especially my daughter. There were times I was scared to bring my kids around her, but there has been some growth,” he added.

The heartfelt revelations come amid ongoing discussions about the singer’s upcoming album and the couple’s much-anticipated white wedding scheduled for August 2025 in Miami.
