Falz VS VDM: One big entertainment balloon or a serious cup of tea?

The trend of serving people warning letters in the entertainment industry took a big pump when everyone realized the power of social media.

Everyone started sending petitions and letters through their lawyers to the social media handles of their enemies. Once someone did anything that stains your person in the eye of the general public, you had to respond in 24 hours serving him a letter that says he has 24 hours to take down his statements and issue an apology or face legal action. Script.

Falz Demands Apology From VeryDarkMan

Similar to how our Afrobeats artists subscribe to the tantrum package when they want to drop an album. Hehehe.

25th of September saw social media activist Very Dark Man call out the EFCC, Bobrisky and others for trying to be above the law. He played a voice recording of a call where Bobrisky alleged that the EFCC asked him to bring 15 million naira in exchange for them taking the money laundering case off his name.

Very dark man releases call recordings of Bobrisky admitting to paying EFCC 15 million to clear his money laundering case and also how he was taken into a personal apartment instead of prison to serve his sentence and also mentioning everyone involved in the Scheme😭💔🧎🏽‍♂️Omoh… pic.twitter.com/ZGfqox1DEZ

VDM mentioned that Bobrisky had a money laundering case to his name at the beginning of his sorrows but it miraculously disappeared over time.

EFCC, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission allegedly collecting bribes to hide financial crime cases is interesting to see. There seems to be more to the story, VDM made allegations that Falz was homosexual and quoted a lyric of his on Hypocrites where he asked who we were to judge homosexuals.

Many social media users seem to think that the entire thing is either one big publicity stunt or a distraction from more pressing issues in the country. Many feel that the allegations raised by VDM are baseless and lack proper concrete evidence. I do not share this perspective as there is too much at stake for it to be a publicity stunt.

For example, who is Bobrisky’s godfather who could put a call through to the controller general of prisons to make sure that Bobrisky does not stay in prison? Was the money paid to EFCC or they just decided to drop the money laundering claims against Bob?

VDM in his response to the warning letter served by Falz and his legal associates said that the claims of defamation should be directed to Bobrisky and not himself as everything he said was based on the things Bob said in the video he played on his visual recording.

Someone’s lying, that’s for sure. Bob says there was no call, and Falz says Bob called. Bob says he didn’t pay to EFCC, but the EFCC dropped the case mysteriously. Falz says Bob called to ask for 3 million naira, Bob says in the call that he spoke to Falz to get him a presidential pardon.

I think that push has come to shove. People in power have been outed because someone was loose with confidential information. People will have a social media tyrant on their case because someone cannot keep their mouths shut.

I also do not think publicity stunts would now go as far as involving legendary lawyers like Mr Femi Falana, and open a possibility where his legal exploits are tainted by illegal or questionable actions.

I do not think that Falz will want to put his reputation on the line for Bobrisky. I think there’s more to this story than everyone is saying at the moment, and I think everyone is focusing on the wrong things in this story. For example, do the rich, powerful or connected actually go to prison?
