In a recent turn of events, fans have taken to social media to express their discontent with Asake over his latest music video.

The Nigeria artist released the music video to his song Only Me on 29 February, 2024 and has received backlash for the video’s content. The uproar stems from accusations that the video contains elements that mock Christianity, prompting fans to question Asake’s choices as an artist who is Muslim.

Fans have criticized Asake for what they perceive as disrespectful portrayals of Christian symbols and practices in his new video. Many have pointed out instances in the video that they believe ridicule Christianity, leading to a wave of backlash against the artist.

Amid the controversy, fans have raised questions about religious sensitivity and consistency in artistic expression. Some fans have highlighted a past incident involving musician Davido, who faced backlash for depicting Muslims in a controversial manner in one of his videos. The backlash at the time led Davido to apologize and take down the video. Fans have asked Asake to do same.

The online community has been abuzz with discussions surrounding the perceived insensitivity in Asake’s video. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how Asake will respond to the criticism and whether he will address the concerns raised by his fans regarding the alleged mockery of Christianity in his new video.

TG Omori continuously uses his video productions to promote sacr!lege thinking it’s art; Asake’s new music video is !nsulting, but this isn’t the first time. In the “Bandana” music video by Fireboy ft Asake, he made m¤ckery of the “Pentecost” (in the church scene). It costs…
