Nigerian music star Burna Boy has addressed online chatter suggesting he imitated Wizkid during a recent performance. Taking to social media, the Grammy-winning artist reminded fans of his long-standing career, saying:
“This is 2021. And I’ve been doing this since GLO & Star Trek days. FC tread softly. Body dey pepper me.”
His statement appeared to be directed at members of Wizkid’s fan base, popularly known as “FC,” who had accused him of borrowing elements from the Starboy’s stage style. Burna Boy emphasized that he has been active in the music scene for years, citing his performances during the GLO and Star Trek tours as proof of his originality.
