While his name might not yet be a household one in Nigeria, American-Nigerian country music sensation Collins Chibueze, popularly known as Shaboozey, is poised to change that. The rising star is confirmed to feature on Burna Boy’s highly anticipated next album, No Sign of Weakness, on a track titled “Change Your Mind.”

Speculation about a collaboration between the two artists began swirling late last year when Burna Boy and Shaboozey were spotted together in a studio in October 2024. This sighting sent waves of excitement through the music scene, with fans eager to witness a fusion of their distinct musical styles.

Shaboozey, a country musician with Nigerian roots, made a significant impact in 2024 with his breakout hit single, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” The track dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks, catapulting him into the global spotlight and catching the attention of music lovers worldwide.

He was nominated in different categories at the 2025 Grammy Awards and his success has highlighted a growing interest in genre-bending artistry, making a partnership with Nigeria’s own “African Giant” a particularly intriguing prospect.

The collaboration promises to blend the raw energy of Burna Boy’s Afro-fusion with Shaboozey’s unique country sound, potentially creating an innovative and groundbreaking track that could further bridge the gap between diverse musical genres.

For Shaboozy, this feature on Burna Boy’s album is expected to introduce his talent to a massive African audience, solidifying his presence in both the global and Nigerian music landscapes.
