Fifi Cooper Responds to Allegations She Stole Rising Star Naledi Aphiwe’s Phone

South African rapper Fifi Cooper has responded with frustration and disbelief to allegations made by amapiano newcomer Naledi Aphiwe, who claims her phone was stolen at a recent event — and hints that Fifi may have been the culprit.

In a video clip shared online, Fifi firmly addresses the accusation:

“You are a child, you have a bright future ahead of you — so stop what you are doing.”

The Accusation

Naledi Aphiwe sparked the drama after claiming that a well-known (but unnamed) celebrity had swiped her iPhone 16while she was in the bathroom at an unnamed venue (Big Zulu’s album launch)

“Guys, I was in the loo, and while washing my hands, I either placed my phone on the counter or had it in my pocket,” she explained in a video.

She went on to describe a strange encounter:

“This celebrity — I won’t name them — came up to me and said I was doing great. Then, instead of leaving normally, she walked backwards out the door.”

Naledi says a friend waiting outside noticed that the celebrity left the building entirely shortly after the encounter. Within minutes, the phone’s location pinged at a nearby Dis-Chem, and later, at a house in Alexandra.

“We went to the house but decided against confronting anyone, fearing we might be seen as attacking them.”

No Police Case Opened

Naledi admits she didn’t open a police case, saying the process felt too complicated.

“We tried to go to the police, but they asked for too much. We ended up dropping it.”

In a sarcastic tone, she later said:

“Congrats, sisi. You now have yourself an iPhone 16 that you didn’t sweat for. You’re a top dog. God just snaps his fingers, and you get manna from heaven.”

Fifi Cooper Sets the Record Straight

Fifi Cooper didn’t hold back in her response, denying everything and calling out the lack of evidence:

“Lies — and you are so young. I don’t know how you feel knowing there’s no truth in what you’re saying.”

“I’ve been in this industry for over 18 years. I’m not your peer. You can’t just accuse people without proof.”

She also questioned the motives behind the accusation:

“My love, don’t drag my name through the mud for attention. So many people used that bathroom. Just because I was there doesn’t mean I took your phone.”

“Or is it because you know using my name will get you attention?”
