Funke Akindele’s film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, is set to hit cinemas on December 13, 2024.

The announcement was made in a hilarious promotional video shared on Akindele’s Instagram page, where a lively tug-of-war determined the premiere between her latest project and the sequel to A Tribe Called Judah.

In a playful twist, the cast of Everybody Loves Jenifa emerged victorious in the game, leading Funke Akindele to reveal the film’s release date.

The cast features a stellar lineup, including Omowumi Dada, Nancy Isime, Falz, Stan Nze, and Jackie Appiah, promising an entertaining experience for audiences.

Everybody Loves Jenifa builds on the popular Jenifa’s Diary, a television comedy series created by Akindele in 2015.

This new installment continues the adventures of the naive and humorous character Jenifa, who first captured hearts in 2008 with the original film, Jenifa, followed by the sequel Return of Jenifa in 2011.

The franchise has expanded over the years, giving rise to spin-offs like Aiyetoro Town (2019) and Jenifa on Lockdown (2021), further exploring Jenifa’s quirky world.

With numerous awards and accolades under her belt, Funke Akindele has cemented her status as a leading figure in Nollywood.
