Harry Styles has once again claimed the title of Sexiest Musician Alive for 2024 by People magazine, a win that didn’t sit well with the runner-up, singer Role Model (Tucker Harrington Pillsbury).
Despite running a TikTok campaign to sway fans in his favor, Role Model fell short, coming in second to Styles, who has now won Sexiest Musician Alive for the second consecutive year. The fan-voted title was awarded by People, but Role Model had much to say about his near-win. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he addressed the outcome directly, saying,
“So this is my speech. Harry Styles has won Sexiest Musician Alive. I was the runner-up. I heard about the counts — a lot of you voted for me. But I wanna speak to those who voted for Harry Styles. I hope you’re happy.”
He went on, expressing his frustration: “I hope your day is made from this, because guess what? His publicist isn’t even going to mention this to him. He won’t know about this.”
“That boy is in Fiji, somewhere. That’s how insignificant this is to him,” he added.
Closing out, he directed his remarks to People magazine, saying,
“To People magazine, I’m treading lightly here. You had an opportunity to really do something for the culture. To create this beautiful ending to an underdog story, and you didn’t.”
