Grammy-winning artist, Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, has opened up about the qualities she seeks in an ideal partner.
In an interview with Korty EO on her YouTube show that surfaced online on Monday, June 10, 2024, the celebrated singer shared that she is looking for a man who is mature or spiritually inclined, genuinely funny, and emotionally intelligent.
Tems explained that her understanding of men’s typical intentions makes it challenging for her to trust new relationships. She often perceives the initial stages of getting to know someone as insincere.
“The thing is I know their intentions; most of the time, they have one intention, as most guys do [Laughs]. They are very obvious, so how can I even trust this conversation we are having? It’s not even real; everything you say is fake,” she stated.
Despite these challenges, Tems remains open to meeting new people. She emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence, a good sense of humor, and spiritual maturity in a partner, urging those interested in her to genuinely demonstrate these qualities.
“I have a thing I am looking for: You have to be emotionally intelligent, very funny, and you have to be spiritually adept, inclined, and mature. Just on that journey of your own. To boys that like me, ‘show me’,” she concluded.
