Activist VeryDarkMan has shed light on how he obtained the highly debated audio recording allegedly linked to social media personality Bobrisky. His testimony unfolded on Monday, September 30, during a session before the House of Representatives joint committee investigating bribery claims involving officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Haliru Nababa, the controller-general of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
Initially hesitant to speak in the absence of Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan was persuaded by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, to proceed. During his testimony, he disclosed that he received the controversial audio from an individual who claims to have lent Bobrisky money.
According to VeryDarkMan, the loan of N4 million was reportedly provided to Bobrisky while she was in detention, specifically on June 19, 2024. “The individual who lent the money was trying to retrieve it after Bobrisky failed to respond to requests for repayment,” he explained.
The activist recounted how Bobrisky allegedly blackmailed the lender when it came time to settle the debt. He presented messages as evidence, revealing the tense back-and-forth regarding the loan. “The person sent Bobrisky a reminder stating, ‘this is a reminder for the return of the loan amount of N4 million as agreed, with a due date of September 1,’ which Bobrisky had initially set.”
He continued, recounting the lender’s frustrations: “He expressed that he helped when Bobrisky needed assistance, but when it was time to repay, Bobrisky began to threaten him.” VeryDarkMan shared snippets of the exchange, where Bobrisky allegedly retorted, “Go ahead and call me out; I will respond to you on IG. You know I’m shameless and I don’t care.”
In addition to the audio in question, VeryDarkMan has hinted at further evidence that he plans to submit to the committee. His prior release of a separate audio recording reportedly featured Bobrisky confessing to bribing EFCC officials with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges against her.
