You asked and we answered. Check out how much Barcelona is expected to get for winning the 2025 La Liga title.

Following the conclusion of the 2024/2025 La Liga season, questions have been raised regarding how much the winners, Barcelona, receive for winning the title.

Barca’s 2024/2025 La Liga title win marked a high point in their footballing comeback, and with it came a financial reward that turned heads, a reported €58.4 million in prize money. On the surface, it looks like a massive payday. However, reports indicate that the total payout is expected to be lesser due to possible deductions and existing financial commitments.

The €58.4 million figure represents roughly 17% of La Liga’s total television rights revenue pool of €343.5 million. However, that money isn’t delivered in full. La Liga follows a deferred payout system that stretches over five years. Only 35% is paid in the first year, 20% in the second, and the remaining 45% is distributed over the next three years in 15% annual instalments. So, while the reward is substantial, the cash flow is anything but immediate.

Barcelona’s total earnings from domestic competitions this season could range between €60 million and €90 million. This includes additional income from the Spanish Super Cup (€9 million) and the Copa del Rey (€1.2 million). Yet, even these combined figures don’t tell the whole story.

Due to a prior agreement with American investment firm Sixth Street, a portion of the club’s La Liga revenue (10%), according to the New York Times, will be redirected to service that deal. In 2022, Barcelona sold off a percentage of its future TV rights to secure immediate financial relief.

Barcelona may have lifted the trophy, but the money game is far from straightforward.
